Pet Insurance
Pet Health Insurance is a very good way of covering your pet for the cost of treating an unexpected accident or illness. It takes some of the worry away if your pet falls ill, and allows us to use the best treatment possible on your animal (for example complicated orthopaedic surgery such as a hip replacement can cost up to £2,000).
Not only does pet insurance cover your pet for illness and accidents, it will also cover for third party claims i.e if your dog causes an accident.
Many people do not realise that pet insurance can be provided for as little as the cost of a daily newspaper.
All new puppies, kittens and rabbits under 12 months of age will be given a 6 week free insurance with Petplan at the time of their first vaccination.
We are an approved representative for Petplan insurance.
The practice strongly recommends that you insure your pets. Details are available from the surgery or www.petplan.co.uk/vet.
PDSA Pet Aid
The Rugby surgeries are proud to be designated PDSA Pet Aid centres. This valuable service provides a safety net for animals in the community whose owners are financially disadvantaged. For those on council tax benefit or housing benefit in the Rugby area, financial help is available for your pet's treatment.
You must be registered in advance in order to claim when your pet falls ill or suffers an accident.
The PDSA will issue a certificate, which will cost £5 and will need to be renewed usually every six months.
This will cover veterinary bills for accident and disease for one animal. It does not cover preventative treatment such as neutering, vaccination and flea and worm control. Full details are available from the Rugby surgeries.
